Europe 2015 - Germany, Poland and Czech Republic
Auschwitz - Birkenau, Poland
Prague, Czech Republic
Brockman Institute commemorates the 70th year Anniversary of the end of World War ll.
This year Brockman Institute planned a very special program to acknowledge the fallen heroes of the biggest and most devastating of wars ever, World War ll.
Our program was designed to include those who were educators, historians and finally to add a very important day of prayer for the many who sacrificed their lives. Some of those who participated in this never to be forgotten journey included:
Pastor Linda Quinn - Pastor Quinn, well known spiritual leader in Orange County, California has proven to be one of the most inspiring participants as she presented the most captivating prayer to those who attended the prayer service held at Auschwitz – Birkenau, Poland. This being one of the largest of the former Concentration Camps during the war was very significant. Pastor Quinn shared this special prayer as we committed to not let those who perished, die in vain.
She also recognized that over 500,000 African American men and women served in this war.
We would make sure those who served in the military not be forgotten. Her prayer for all who attended was highly appreciated and will be remembered. Her main focus was that we go forward in our lives making sure we unify and not destroy the love among people of all nations.
Dorothy and Nathaniel Jackson - Professional and Educational leaders - Provided informative and historic knowledge that enlightened and prepared us for the many sites on our journey. Dorothy Jackson also led a prayer for all the many Veterans today needing health and special needs. She delivered her prayer at Auschwitz in honor of those who have served in wartime. She also included many today who are facing difficult times as they try to return to a normal life. She gave an outstanding speech as well that will encourage us to return home and work to help the Veterans.
Bill Davis - Community Leader and Educational Liaison
Member of the Brockman Institute Advisory Board - Bill Davis was instrumental in providing research information on this journey.
Historian and Educator in Community and International Programs
Mary Wilson - A community leader and educator to many youth. A resident of Orange County for many years, she is a very devoted Christian and committed to making this world a better place for all. It was her greatest desire to take this journey and to share with all in the community upon her return.
Sarita Jackson – President and CEO - Global Research Institute of International Trade. (GRIIT) Dr. Jackson was a great asset to the group with her input and valuable knowledge of the many historic sites we visited. The pleasure of having such a capable and well informed participant with us added so much to this historic journey.
Kevin Jackson - A very knowledgeable and enjoyable young man who visited every site on tour and never missed a chance to learn more. Even when it was raining and weather was cool, Kevin kept up with the experienced guide. As we traveled throughout Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, Kevin was an inspiration to us all.
